After spending 12 years as a broadcaster (radio and television), an advertising consultant, and a new media specialist, Joe pursued his interest in the law. A 2012 graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, Joe continues to pursue his interest in media related issues and has written several online articles relating to broadcasting and the law.
Joe graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications focusing on broadcasting, advertising, and journalism for both television and radio. During his time at MSUM, Joe began working part-time as a production assistant for a local television station and as a morning show producer/host for a radio station. Following his graduation, Joe obtained full-time employment with Leighton Broadcasting of Minnesota where he became an integral part of the daily operations, all the while learning about the legal needs and problems broadcasters face in the industry.
After several years working in broadcasting, Joe attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While there, he was an active member of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity and other organizations, and made the Dean’s List.
