Lucas J. Thompson
Born and raised in Iowa, Luke graduated with honors from Iowa State University and earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in New York. His early legal experience includes work as an intern for United States District Court Judge Ann D. Montgomery and a clerkship for Chief Justice Russell A. Anderson of the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Luke is also a former litigation associate at Faegre & Benson (now Faegre Baker Daniels), where he represented Fortune 500 companies in complex, multistate litigation.
Luke joined the firm in 2011 and now leads cases involving complex business law, lawsuits, and intellectual property. He also assists clients with business formation, contracts, and negotiations. He practices in both state and federal courts.
Luke has extensive experience in litigation involving business law, contracts, fiduciary duties, unfair trade practices, defamation, fraud, RICO violations, trademark infringement, Trade Secrets Act violations, and business ownership disputes. He has earned victories for his clients via motion practice, negotiations, favorable settlements, and at trial.
Luke lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two sons. He believes that he serves his clients most effectively when he makes responding to their needs, questions, and concerns his number one priority.
