Attorney Steven M. Cerny is licensed to practice law in all Minnesota state courts and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Prior to joining the firm as a partner in 2012, Steven was an associate at Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren and Meagher & Geer. Steven has extensive experience representing clients in business and employment litigation, and counseling clients on business, labor, and employment law issues.

Steven’s litigation practice includes representing clients in lawsuits involving non-compete agreements, trade secrets, confidential information, unfair trade practices, tortious interference, fiduciary duties, and other statutory and common law claims. Steven frequently litigate cases involving shareholder and member disputes alleging violations of the Minnesota Business Corporation Act and the Minnesota Limited Liability Company Act.

Steven also represents clients in employment matters in federal and state courts, as well as before local, state, and federal administrative agencies involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation/reprisal, whistleblower violations, wage and hour violations, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and other federal and state statutory claims.

In addition to his litigation practice, Steven counsels clients on a variety of different business, labor, and employment law issues including advising clients on different labor and employment laws and regulations, human resources policies and procedures, addressing discipline and discharge issues, and responding to union pickets, boycotts, and organization campaigns. Steven acts as outside General Counsel for many established and startup companies.
